12 points in 12 months (adult drivers)
14 points in 24 months
CDL drivers are held to stricter standards.
Each violation adds points—speeding, careless driving, and DUI carry the highest. -

- Failure to yield right-of-way: 3 points
- Failure to turn on lights: 2 points
- Failure to yield to an emergency vehicle: 4 points
