Colorado uses a point system. Too many points within a specific period can result in suspension:

  • 12 points in 12 months (adult drivers)
    14 points in 24 months
CDL drivers are held to stricter standards.
Each violation adds points—speeding, careless driving, and DUI carry the highest.
